Stop Gambling in Longwood

Join Us Saturday!
With all of the attention of our country on the national stories of Obamacare, Cap & Trade and the War in Afghanistan, it’s easy to lose sight of some very important local issues we are facing as well.
One such issue is an attempt by the Longwood Kennel Club to add poker and slot machines to their facility. Various local leaders have been working for many years to clean up our city and keep the adult entertainment and gambling industry from producing inevitable moral and financial decay in our neighborhoods.
But there is a struggle now to legalize this addictive and destructive behavior very close to home. Don’t get so caught up in the national headlines that you lose sight of the fact that there are battles to be fought and won at every level of government that will have a direct impact on the quality of your neighborhoods and property values.
There are important elections occuring November 3 that will determine whether pro-gambling or anti-gambling representatives are elected, greatly determining the outcome of this struggle.
What can you do: Join us this Saturday for an important initiative to help get the word out about this issue. We will meet from 8:30 and be done by 10:30. Volunteers are needed. If you can help us with this, please email me so I can inform the organizer.
Thanks for your help. Stay vigilant.
